Blumar Seafoods Invested GREENMAX Polystyrene Foam Compactor to Process Foam Fish Boxes

Blumar Seafoods is one of the largest seafood aquaculture and distributors in Chile, producing high-quality salmon. Its main market is the United States, and these seafood products are distributed throughout the country by its American subsidiary Bluglacier. Other important markets include Brazil and the rest of Latin America, Europe and Asia.

As a global company dedicated to fisheries and aquaculture, Blumar Seafoods generates large quantities of polystyrene foam boxes during the transportation and distribution of seafood products. As a result, the team began to collaborate with INTCO Recycling for polystyrene foam recycling business.

Blumar Seafoods first partnered with INTCO Recycling primarily to find a recycling solution for polystyrene fish boxes. In March, the American branch Blugclaier contacted INTCO for the first time, hoping to solve their headache of the disposa of fish foam boxes. At that time, during the repackaging process, they decided to replace the original polystyrene boxes with new packaging, producing a large amount of polystyrene waste, which not only took up a lot of storage space, but also had an impact on 5S on site. This has seriously affected the efficient operation of its main business, increased costs and reduced revenue. Therefore, they must landfill or find a local recycler to dispose of these polystyrene foam boxes. Polystyrene is costly to landfill and is often not collected by recyclers in a timely manner. These facts make the recycling of polystyrene foam a pressing issue for the Blugclaier plant.

Based on the above situation, as a company committed to practicing concepts of environmental protection, they decided to find a new polystyrene foam recycling solution and then conducted in-depth market research. INTCO invites Blugclaier to attend Seafood Expo and visit our foam recycling equipment on site. We made a proposal for this project at the exhibition and the customer was very satisfied with our solution. The team signed the first GREENMAX Polystyrene foam compactor A-C200, which is specially designed for water-containing foam fish boxes.

Due to the relocation of the Chilean factory and the surge in business, a large quantity of polystyrene fish boxes needed to be disposed of. Therefore the company decided to move GREENMAX equipment from the US branch to the Chilean factory. Based on trust in INTCO Recycling, in August, the American branch connected INTCO again and purchased a second GREENMAX compactor. The first polystyrene compactor has been in use for a year and a half and is operating well, and the second equipment is about to be put into use.

INTCO Recycling not only provides professional GREENMAX polystyrene foam compactors, but also provides repurchase of compressed foam blocks to make exquisite picture frame products. For Blugmar, such a holistic solution provided by INTCO is very beneficial to them. On the one hand, it improves the operational efficiency of the enterprise and establishes a good public image of the enterprise. On the other hand, INTCO provides a good polystyrene foam recycling solution, turning polystyrene waste into treasure through compaction, granulation, and reproduction.

In December, INTCO has purchased more than 360MT of compressed foam blocks from Blumar. With the use of the second GREENMAX polystyrene foam compactor in the US branch, it is believed that the cooperation will be further expanded in the future.
